At the reception there is a little box of business cards. You printed them three years ago, 500 of them. Since then the mobile number changed, Instagram was added and the email is different. Half the cards are still in the box. The ones guests took are most likely in a drawer, or in an airport bin.
Meanwhile the guest who just arrived asks the same questions as the one before: what is the Wi-Fi password, where do I park, how do I get to the beach, do you have Instagram? The paper card answers none of them.
What a digital property card is
A digital card is a public page for your property that opens on a phone. The guest scans a QR code at the reception or in the room, or taps a link you sent them, and has it in front of them. Nothing to install, it opens in the phone browser.
The Bookmatrix.com digital card holds what guests ask at the desk, each one a single tap away:
- Contact details: phone, email, messages.
- Wi-Fi and parking: the password and the directions, written once.
- Location on the map with directions, and what is nearby.
- Instagram and Facebook.
- A booking button that opens your commission-free booking engine.
- A review button that opens your Google review form directly.
- A link to your website.
The card also has a language switch, so the guest reads it in a language they understand.
Paper or digital: the comparison
- Changes: a paper card with the wrong phone needs a reprint. On the digital card you change the phone in your dashboard and the page updates at once. The QR code stays the same.
- How much fits: a paper card fits a name, a phone and an address. The digital card fits Wi-Fi, parking, a map, social links, booking and reviews.
- Sharing: a paper card goes to one person. The digital card is sent on by the guest to a friend by WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger or email with one tap.
- What the guest does next: with paper, usually nothing. With the digital card, they can leave a review or book their next stay direct.
Where to put the QR code
One QR code for the whole property is enough. Print the same one wherever you like:
- At the reception, on a small stand next to the bell or the computer.
- In every room, next to the Wi-Fi details or on the door. The guest scans it when they want to ask something, instead of calling you.
- On the breakfast table, where guests sit without hurry.
- In the confirmation email or the pre-arrival message, as a link. The guest has directions and parking before arriving.
An example of the time it saves: if 6 guests arrive in a day and each one asks about Wi-Fi, parking and directions for 3 minutes, that is 18 minutes a day at the desk on the same answers. Over a three-month season it is more than 25 hours. The card will not remove all of it, but most of the answers will already be on the guest's phone. We wrote about the questions that arrive as messages in the middle of the night in a message at 3 in the morning.
A card that brings reviews and direct bookings
The best moment to ask for a review is while the guest is still happy, as they leave. If they have to search your name on Google, find the right profile and tap "Write a review", most will leave it for later. And later does not come. On the digital card they tap the stars and land on your Google review form. Whether they write it is up to them. You just make the path much shorter.
The same goes for the next booking. A guest who had a good stay and keeps your card on their phone taps "Book" next year and books on your own booking engine, without a platform and without commission. So does the friend they sent it to. If you want a full website too, the hotel website add-on builds one and links it to the card.
How you start
- You send us the details: contact, Wi-Fi, parking notes, social links and a few photos.
- We build the card, connect it to your booking engine and your Google reviews, and send you the link and the QR code. Usually within 48 hours.
- You print the QR code for the reception and the rooms. You make changes yourself from the Digital Card section of your dashboard, in a minute.
The digital card is included in every Bookmatrix.com plan, for hotels and for short-term rentals, at no extra cost.

No. The QR code leads to the card page. You change the password in the dashboard and the page updates at once.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra. The digital card is part of every Bookmatrix.com plan. Plan prices are on the pricing page.
